The construction of the León Exhibition Hall is reaching completion

The construction of the Leon Exhibition Hall within the Leon Conference and Exhibition Center is reaching completion.

The ground level, comprised of 9,600m2 of multi-use space, will be divided into three exhibition spaces, of roughly 3,000m2 each, via movable partition walls that are currently under construction.

The 16,000m2 roof area, measuring 289m long and 95m wide (maximum), contains 4,024 photovoltaic panels that respond to the future of clean, renewable energy. The roof shall be completed once the final installation of the building is completed.

The façade is composed of a double-skin structure of 8,000m2 each: the first a double-glazed interior curtain wall and the second a laminated single-glazed exterior curtain wall, with a ventilated void in between both skins. Within this void, attached to the interior skin, are a series of motorized blinds that control the amount of natural sunlight entering the building, and add tonalities of color to the façade. They will be completed once the blinds are installed and functional.

Next July, the Leon Conference and Exhibition Center will be open for use, following with a call for tenders by the City Hall of Leon for an urban design project to create a new plaza that will provide access to the building.
