DPA restore DPA at the Hotel Industriel Berlier

Finished in 1990 by the DPA agency, the Hotel Industriel Berlier had received the Equerre d'Argent Award in 1992. Nowadays, the building doesn't fit anymore with the neighborhood and the expansion of the service sector and the thermal standards need to be upgrated

The project is a restoration of the Hotel Industriel Berlier, that means the transition of the industrial style to a tertiary building of 16 100 m2.

Build at the beginning to take place in a complex territory of highway and railway system, the construction was conceived to break away from a "common" ground with no quality. The users will have a calm outside space, away from the highway flows of the street Bruneseau. Also on the street side, the vegetatd slopes around th building will be replaced by a structured and easily accessible walking path.
The creation and development of the lobby, a welcoming place joining the two hearts of the building initially independent., fulfill two goals : a new welcoming place with thermal and acoustic comfort and the respect of the industrial nature of the building. Into the lobby, the furniture and the lights created by Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost will come along together in an inox and metal universe.

The cores and hallways are reorganized to offer the transparency into the building.

The adding of a "second skin", an intern front patterned on the existing frame and equipped with a photovoltaic cover with a homogeneous colour, asserting the parallelepipedic volume and the pure shape of the building.

The front works have already begun and the garden level, achived this summer welcomes the laboratory of the LEM. The construction of the environment, the higher levels and the roof start on fall 2017. The delivery is planned for December 2020.
