11th Idea-Tops Award -The Paris Longchamp racecourse awarded
Dominique Perrault's project Paris Longchamp Racecourse has won the Public Architecture category of the 11th Idea-Tops Award. The 5th extension of the Court of Justice of the European Union was also nominated in this category.

The Awarding Ceremony of 11th Idea-Tops Award was successfully held on Oct 13, and was broadcasted live on CCTV. The exhibition of the winning projects will be held on November 1-November 21 at the Shenzhen Library.
Idea-Tops is the most influential and recognized design award in China. Supported by related government departments, it annually awards designers and architects from around the world In 2020-2021, the Idea-Tops Award received a total of 7712 entries from 63 countries.
Paris Longchamp Race Course
Inaugurated in 2018, the Paris Longchamp racecourse stands out in the landscape, on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne, with its new large grandstand, built in place of old grandstands dating from the 1960s. The new grandstand, whose levels are slightly inclined towards the track and offset from each other up to the last overhanging level, evokes the idea of a galloping horse.
The intervention on the Paris Longchamp racecourse site creates a space whose design has been thought out in line with the prestige of the hosted events: equipment offering maximum comfort, adapted services and careful design. The project offers new flexibility by creating a wide variety of venues allowing Paris Longchamp to accommodate a greater number of people in suitable conditions. While the annual Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, one of the most prestigious races in the world, can attract up to 70,000 visitors over a weekend, the new building is flexible enough to adapt to fluctuations in audience numbers, and also to accommodate concerts and other cultural and sporting events, as well as private events such as fashion shows. This flexibility thus brings added value to the project throughout the year, outside the racing season.
