URBAN FOLLY, GWANGJU DESIGN BIENNALE

Gwangju, Korea

The idea is to create a protected crossing for the cyclist and pedestrian ciruclation, printing the ground with concentric circles, and to offer a small Pavilion which the inhabitants and strollers can appropriate.
Under the pavilion, chairs, tables and typical Asian food stands can be installed. Some of the chairs should be fi xed and perennial, some other chairs can be brought by the inhabitants themselves.
During the day, the golden aluminium metal mesh shines and creates a light shadow under the Pavilion. During the night, this mesh is light up so that it continues to shimmer in the city. It is a simple, lively and friendly project, which aims to create humanity in the heart of the city.
