CHARITY AUCTION TO BENEFIT THE ASSOCIATION LA SOURCE

For its 28th edition, the auction benefiting the La Source Garouste association is showcasing Jean Prouvé’s metal stool, reissued by Vitra and reinterpreted by 55 contemporary designers. Designers, architects, artists, and fashion figures are coming together for a charitable initiative that celebrates creativity while supporting the association’s work. A rare piece in Prouvé’s oeuvre, this 1936 stool reveals a more free-spirited designer, less constrained by the strict construction requirements that guided his metalwork. To highlight its formal purity, Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost and Dominique Perrault removed the paint and varnish, then completely polished and chrome-plated the object, giving it a “mirror” appearance that reflects its surroundings. This unique piece was specially created for the La Source Garouste charity sale.

PUBLICATION OF FRAPOTEL MAGAZINE #2: IN RESIDENCY

The second issue of Revue Frapotel is dedicated to the history of residencies conducted on site, their approaches, and their work. It looks back at architects’ residencies over time, as well as those of the Charles Abella Prize, organized in conjunction with the Academy of Fine Arts and supported by the Association for the Conservation of the Domaine de Frapotel. With a large section devoted to the residencies hosted at the Domaine de Frapotel in 2025, this issue provides further evidence of the vitality of the estate since Dominique Perrault and Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost undertook to breathe new life into the former Villa Weill.

Program: renovation of Tower 08 with a change of use for replicability and development of the green corridor connecting the neighborhood to the city center and the university campus.

From December 3, 2025, to March 30, 2026, the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine presents the exhibition “Neighborhoods of Tomorrow. The Future Is Written Today,” the architectural proposals resulting from the consultation through drawings, models, photographs, films, and immersive technologies allowing visitors to explore the future spaces and assess their impact.

The voices of Chiara Parisi, Vanessa Schneider, and Margaux Cassan accompany these architectural interiors with their sensibilities.

During European Heritage Days 2025, more than 400 visitors came to discover the Domaine de Frapotel (Oise) during two guided tours organized by Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost and Dominique Perrault.

This was an opportunity for them to present this masterpiece of contemporary architecture designed by Jean Dubuisson, as well as their future projects. Through concrete actions, the Domaine de Frapotel, supported by its Association and Endowment Fund, is affirming its strong commitment to making this site a campus dedicated to architecture, design, and landscape.

Keen to support the excellence of its teaching, research, and innovation, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne has been developing its campus layout, a project we have been involved in since the 2000s.

The encyclopedic work on metal mesh published by Gallimard is the starting point for this exhibition, which weaves together a conversation between architects, designers, and artists. Written by Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost, this conversation imagines formal dialogues between pieces of furniture and design from the Galerie Jousse collection and pieces they have designed. Thus, their light tubes, whose light is filtered through pleated metal mesh, dialogue with Philippe Starck’s neon lights, which seem to echo the metal mesh surrounding the fluorescent tube. The “Ballets de Marseille” screens, designed by the two creators for a ballet by Frédéric Flamand and developed in accordance with the proportions of the Modulor, partition the space around a bed by Le Corbusier, a table by Charlotte Perriand, and pieces by Jean Prouvé. Contemporary works by artists from the gallery—Clément Borderie, Jennifer Caubet, and Seulgi Lee—are brought together here as punctuation marks in this dialogue between generations, architects, and designers. Finally, a setting had to be found for the artist’s edition of the book “La maille métallique” (Metal Mesh), which contains a notebook made of metal parchment. A limited edition of 20 copies, signed by Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost and Dominique Perrault, will be revealed in a display table by Jean Prouvé.

CHARLES ABELLA RESIDENCY EMULATIONS AT THE DOMAINE DE FRAPOTEL

Architects’ residences in partnership with the Académie des Beaux-Arts – Institut de France in the restored housing of the Domaine de Frapotel.

In 2025, the staff housing designed by Jean Dubuisson at the Domaine de Frapotel will become residences open to architects. Renovated in keeping with the spirit of the original plans, these spaces combine rigor and quality materials, precise geometry, and dialogue with nature. Starting in the summer of 2025, they will host the four finalists of the Académie des Beaux-Arts’ Charles Abella Emulations prize for a period of two months, placing the estate at the heart of contemporary creativity. The Domaine de Frapotel will thus become a true place of transmission and reflection on the legacy of modern architecture.

PRESENTATION OF THE EXPANSION PROJECT FOR THE CAJA MÁGICA OLYMPIC TENNIS CENTER IN MADRID

In the presence of Dominique Perrault, Madrid Mayor José Luis Martínez-Almeida Navasqüés, Mutua Madrid Open President Gérard Tsobanian, and tennis players Carlos Alcaraz and Coco Gauff.

Designed by Dominique Perrault Architecture as part of the Spanish capital’s bid for the 2016 Olympic Games and inaugurated in 2009, the Caja Mágica is Madrid’s Olympic tennis center. Built of concrete and clad in metal mesh, the “Magic Box” is one of Madrid’s architectural landmarks. It currently has three stadiums with retractable roofs that can be used at any time of the year, regardless of weather conditions. The desired expansion responds to the growth of the tournament, one of the most important sporting events on the international tennis calendar that the capital hosts each year. With a planned capacity of 8,600 spectators, the new court will be the second largest in the complex, after the main stadium. The Madrid Olympic Tennis Center will increase its total capacity to approximately 26,000 seats. Work will begin after the 2026 tournament and be completed in time for the 2028 tournament.

Built in 1995, the BnF is the iconic work that catapulted 30-year-old Dominique Perrault into the ranks of world-class architects. The table lamps designed for this monumental space have been reimagined in a collection called “Furtiv.” Designed with Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost, the lamp is produced by Ozone and is available in four versions, each with a striking architectural resemblance.”

The Dominique Perrault Architecture agency organized a presentation day at its offices at 6 rue Bouvier, during which students from the “Guest Schools” program presented the work they had done based on the elements gathered at the Domaine de Frapotel.

OLYMPIC VILLAGES: INTERVIEW WITH DOMINIQUE PERRAULT FOR URBANEXT

Started in 2017, works on the Villejuif-Gustave Roussy station have been completed on December 19, 2024, with a ceremony marking the transfer of technical management of the station. On Saturday, January 18, the station will open its doors to users of line 14 before welcoming passengers on line 15 South when it enters service.

At the opening of Paris Design Week 2025, Gaëlle Lauriot-Prévost and Dominique Perrault unveiled their new creation, the Bloc bookcase, which joins the Liaigre catalog.

Based on a geometric, rational, and functional design, this new collection demonstrates above all a concern for books, their preservation, and their display. Numerous details allow for careful organization of the bookcase, such as integrated and movable bookends and discreetly incorporated lighting.
