Built in 1990, internationally recognized and awarded several time, the Industrial Hotel Berlier has marked the beginning of a decade of French architecture. Sort of prefiguration of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, it was the first building with curtain wall systems without any kiosk or visible acroterion from the street. All was invented and conceived tailor-made in order to create a perfect glass prism.
The project of the Hotel Berlier rehabilitation consist in updating this industrial building while enhancing its performances in terms of comfort and power consumption. The project preserves the volume purety, the wholeness of its envelop, as well as the relation between the building and both its ground and environment.
