TOWER
PR–609
Completed in 1983 under the direction of architect Henri La Fonta, the two Pascal Towers, located in the La Défense district near Paris, required a major transformation.
PROGRAM
Originally consisting of two office towers designed by Henri La Fonta, the Pascal Towers have now been joined together and transformed into a single complex called Landscape. The restructuring project includes merging the two volumes into a single building, adding two floors to the building, constructing the space between the two original towers, redesigning the lobby, and creating two patios, a conference center with a 200-seat auditorium, and dining areas. This transformation is accompanied by a significant improvement in energy performance, with the complete removal of the facades in favor of high-performance envelopes incorporating loggias.

DESCRIPTION
The reconfiguration of uses and comfort could not be achieved without redefining the built perimeter. The concrete shell has been preserved, but the two towers have been thickened and merged thanks to an extension that unites them into a single coherent building. This pooling of resources frees up new space, breaking with the monotony of repetitive floor plans. Double-height spaces, loggias, and terraces bring light, air, and diversity of uses. The facades retain the original square grid pattern while being clad in a breathable skin: windows that can be opened on each floor, protected by fixed glass panels placed 20 centimeters apart, allow natural air to enter while protecting against drafts and rain.
