Longchamp is both a landscaping and architectural project, redesigning the stands, equestrian facilities, and green spaces of the racecourse.
PROGRAM
The ParisLongchamp racecourse covers an area of 92,000 m²: 22,000 m² are built up and 70,000 m² are landscaped as green space, with the buildings and gardens forming a single entity. The new Jockey Club grandstand, with a capacity of 10,000 seats, includes restaurants, terraces, reception rooms, bars, brasseries, and areas dedicated to the press and staff. It opens on both sides and offers a 360-degree view of the tracks on one side and the parade ring on the other. The pavilion of honor, the renovation and extension of the stables, the parade ring, the Balances pavilion, the Suresnes pavilion, the riding arena, and programs related to the grandstand are connected by the planks, a 5,500 m² walkway located 4.50 m above the ground, which is the backbone of the new racetrack. The project also includes the renovation of the administrative pavilion and the totalizator.

DESCRIPTION
Firstly, 55,000 square meters of restored lawn cover the asphalt surfaces, reintegrating the racecourse into its natural setting. The new grandstand extends the historic structures, incorporating the dynamics of racing into its design. Composed of a series of open, staggered platforms, it has no front or back. It unfolds to embrace the landscape in a 360-degree panorama: Paris and its Eiffel Tower, the race track, the parade ring, the stables, and the Bois de Boulogne, designed in the 19th century by Adolphe Alphand. The architecture blends into its surroundings: its golden brown color, inspired by the colors of autumn, echoes the season of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the highlight of the racetrack’s calendar.
