Locarno Muralto, Vernier Geneva Vernier, Lausanne, Fribourg and Zurich ... In less than five years, Dominique Perrault has won four competitions and a mandate for major projects on Swiss soil. The sudden emergence of the work of the French architect in Switzerland is not a coincidence, but rather the result of a long process, which involved his participation in many competitions. In just over two decades, Dominique Perrault Architecture (DPA) has developed more than 30 projects for the country.

Each of the five projects that are currently under development is based on in-depth urban analysis, even in the case of the schemas of the studies for Fribourg and Zurich, which are geographically limited to an island. It They areis always to about creatinge connections, reworking spatiality, developing the project by redefining topographical, geographical and urban parameters.

This book, published on the occasion of the inauguration of the architect’s first building in Switzerland, on the EPFL campus, is published in conjunction with the exhibition Dominique Perrault Architecture – Territories and Horizons. It shows all ongoing Swiss DPA projects, a selection of 16 unbuilt Swiss projects and a series of international reference projects. It offers the opportunity to discover the work of an architect who, beyond the care given to the architectural object itself, knows first and how foremost to implement an urban vision.
