Located between the first and second sectors of the new town of Marne-la-Vallée, the Cité Descartes was conceived and designed as a prestigious technology hub. Home to renowned public organizations and private companies, it offers them a green space rich in history and dense woodlands.
PROGRAMM
The ESIEE building houses the institution’s main functional entities, including the library, lecture halls, and dining area, arranged longitudinally along an interior street. This central gallery, with a ceiling height of approximately 10 meters, is the structuring element of the project. It facilitates internal circulation while serving as a public communal space.

DESCRIPTION
Therefore, architecture must not only shape spaces, but also provide each tenant with a specific brand image. ESIEE occupies a key position in the city plan. At the end of the large triangular public space, the building represents a new horizon, an endless backdrop. Treated as a vast inclined plane over its 300 meters in length, it offers a metaphor for flight. Instead of characterizing the street with a vertical facade, it conceals its frontality. The shape of ESIEE is an expression of its essence and purpose, participating in the movement to conquer the territories that have intensified in eastern Paris.
