The General Council’s decision to move into a building constructed at the end of the 19th century was not based solely on economic considerations. The conservation and renovation of old buildings is often more expensive than constructing a new building. The architectural project thus demonstrates respect for and interest in the original building and its surroundings.

PROGRAM

The project houses the departmental administration and the General Council, including workspaces, meeting rooms, and a room dedicated to Council meetings.

DESCRIPTION

The project is based on the creation of a classic layout, starting from a main courtyard, passing through a large reception hall, opening onto a large pond and offering views of a greenhouse set in a garden. The project’s modernity is reflected in its ability to control the thermal, acoustic, and lighting challenges of the glass house building.
