DESCRIPTION
To tackle this complexity, the project relies on a rigorous framework inspired by Mendeleev’s scientific tables: a 100-meter-by-100-meter grid covers the site, like a founding gesture reactivating the ancestral act of establishing a city and restoring its scale. This grid becomes the matrix of a balanced territory: it organizes heights and densities, articulates built spaces and large parks, accommodates major infrastructure, and frees up space for the landscape to breathe.
Each square in the grid becomes a project unit, capable of accommodating new programs while preserving the industrial and urban heritage. Thus, old factories are transformed into cultural venues, and traces of the past nourish the future neighborhood. Designed as an open and reversible tool, this method combines rigor and flexibility: a framework capable of absorbing change and supporting Handan in its transformation, a city that, without denying its history, is inventing a new form of modernity.
